You might have been one of the millions of people waiting for the end of the Poker Star World Caribbean Adventure. The game started a week ago has now come to an end with Galen Hall as the runaway winner.
Dubbed as the biggest poker event, Poker Star Caribbean Adventure has finally reached its finish. The tournament broke records when it packed the house with 1,560 players. A sure testament of the outpouring support from this annual poker event. Massive prizes swelled throughout the 48 tournaments slated in a 10-day incredible poker action. For one, the game itself can take pride of its total prize amounting to $15,132,000. Amidst the throngs of professional poker players, the US veteran poker champion, Galen Hall climbed up the ladder and outplayed hundreds of opponents. He ended the race with $2.3 million on his purse, one of the heaviest prizes given outside Las Vegas.
The host team PokerStar Pro was represented by the veteran players where Chris Moneymaker slipped through the Main Event. He finished the race on the 11th place with cash earnings of $130,000. Greg Debora and Pieter de Korver also run deep into the game placing 49th for $45,000 and 90th for $23,500, consecutively.
It was a surprise for Galen Hall that he survived the game’s trimming down. No one knew that he was slowly closing up on top of the tournament. It wasn’t a game that he had planned to win but he still managed to grasp the title. It was the fates that determined him at the second place for the Main Event so notching the first place was just a step away from him.
This 24-year-old poker champion from San Francisco was destined to enter the Main Even on the second spot. He had a unique strategy that was at totally in contrast with the tournament’s leader, Chris Oliver. The latter is well known for his crazy and wild poker table antics. Galen Hall’s patient and steadfast strategy caught with the wayward techniques of Oliver. It was a thrilling duel between the thinker and the gambler. But in the end, Hall’s patience stood up and won the coveted title.
Hall’s comeback was a reeling victory that makes him feel awesome, something that he hasn’t felt before. In fact, he thought the game was too long that he never believed he ended on the top spot. It seemed that the destiny has put him in to the championship. Chris Oliver almost grabbed the championship three days before the main event. Although Oliver’s game seemed flawless, Hall found one common error – impulsiveness. This was a fatal blow to leg leader’s game and soon caused him to crumble into the second place. The turn of events was a curse-like ordeal that Chris Oliver had to handle. He almost sacked the pot, with 42% of chips on hand, but unfortunately someone grabbed it in just one game.
On the final duel, Galen Hall made sure that Oliver won’t come any closer to the trophy. After a long neck-to-neck match, Hall managed to notch two instant double ups that paved his way to the belt. Chris Oliver ended up being comforted by $1.8 million prize while Galen Hall redeems his name in the world of poker.
